  • Live in New York? Have $15 million? You can live in a Park Avenue apartment designed to look like a retro sci-fi TV show. Sadly, only one of those things applies to me. (The Frisky)
  • The Wrapspeaks to directorsCatherine Hardwicke,Julie Taymor, andJulie-Anne Robinson关于Alice Guy-Blaché, the first female director and subject of the upcoming crowdfunded documentaryBe Natural.
  • Simon Pegghas taken aim atTransformersandMan of Steel, specifically the destruction the latter film rained down on Metropolis: “I think science fiction’s kind of lost its way over the years, in that people suddenly think it’s about the robots … It was never about the robots. It’s always been about the people. And robots have been a metaphor for something. And there doesn’t seem to be a metaphor now. WasMan of Steela metaphor for 9/11? No. It was just us seeing buildings falling down… That was one of the things that blew me away aboutMan of Steel, that at the end, they’re all at the Daily Planet office just going, ‘Hey! Let’s go see the Dodgers!’ Isn’t everyone dead? Isn’t New York flat? What do you mean, go see the Dodgers?!” (The Wrap)

  • Jezebelshares with us a proposed design for a new official female Taekwondo uniform. Among the reasons for the form-fitting new design are to “adapt the modern fabrics used now in sports to Taekwondo,” “Ease and release the body movement,” and “adapt the latest medical and computer technologies applied to fabrics.” Nothing wrong there. Oh, and to “renew the female Taekwondo image and make a better difference between the male and female categories” and to “improve Taekwondo image in the TV and press.” Because if they stick with the current unisex design they can’t have posters with ladies showing off their figures in tight-fitting clothing, andof course这就是Taekwondo is all about, amirite?
